HOW DOES AN EMPLOYER FIND YOUNG, MOTIVATED WORKERS?



STEP 1

Register as a Youth Employment Program (YEP) supporter.

STEP 2

Call YEP when recruiting entry-level employees and the YEP coordinator will connect you with suitable candidates selected among participating youths.

YEP participants are:

  • 16 years and up
  • Pre-screened
  • Ready and able to work
  • Required to complete the Construction Safety Training System


  • AS AN EMPLOYER YOU CAN:

    HOST A 3-WEEK PAID WORK EXPERIENCE

    YEP participants are matched with an employer to gain experience in a trade or occupation that interests him/her as a career. After the 3-weeks are over the employer can choose to hire the selected youth, thus giving that person the opportunity to begin a new future in the construction industry.

    DIRECT HIRE

    Employers can hire candidates who do not qualify for the 3-week work experience because they are either outside of the age group (16 years and up) or are already experienced in the trades. The YEP coordinator pre-screens these candidates before referring them to the employer for interviewing.
