Summary:

It wasnt real. None of it ever was. That was the attraction of kpop, dramas, and idols in general. The chance to actually win one of these "Get to Know the Idol" ploys couldnt have been less than impossible. "We Got Married" was just trying to appeal to a wider international audience for the show. However, the idea to open a contest for foreign fans to participate was highly alluring, especially with every single possible English, Chinese, or Japanese speaking idol available for selection on the application. So, why not fill out the form? Why not select the idols? Why not make a cute application video to introduce herself and explain her choices? Why not send it all in? The chances were impossible. It wasnt real. ForewordShe was very content in her casual fandom. The concerts were fun. Meeting other foreign fans was fun. Meeting Korean fans living close by was fun. Gushing over beautiful young men (several years younger than her) was fun. It was all a lot of fun. Delyse didnt form too much stress or anxiety over bias lists or die hard fandom allegiances. She loved just about everyone with an open heart and mind. In fact, her only list consisted of specific albums she didnt enjoy, actors she could buy as heroes, and girl groups who all looked the same. All of which she could count still wearing both shoes.Delyse enjoyed fandom as more of an escape than a life style. As she browsed through various social networks and Liked various articles or notices, she giggled at antics and mourned atrocities with mild abandon. Thus, when she came across a short blurb on one of the kpop news sites about MBCs lighthearted special for "We Got Married - Fan Edition," she giggled in amusement and clicked the link. The premise was simple: applicants had to be of legal age, be in the greater Seoul area during the time of filming, fill out the local contact form, select two different idols with whom they would like to participate, and submit a short video less than five minutes introducing themselves, as well as explaining why they chose those two specific idols. It was all easy enough and just too precious to pass up. After a delighted look over the idols interested in participating, Delyse thought to herself, "Why not?" and less than five minutes later, her contact form, idol selection, and introductory video went off into the ether. She figured that would be the end of it all. Well, maybe not.
