The boy trapped in the room slightly fluttered his eyes open as the light shone from the transparent glass towards his right. Outside the window, a petite white butterfly had landed on the windowsill of the hospital wall.Guardian Spirit; Luhan thought. When a white butterfly comes by during an important time in life, its a Guardian Spirit. Luhan closed his eyes again. Memories of the previous day rushed back into his mind like a flood. His heart ached, it felt painful to think back the events that have occurred. The sound of birds chirping were now covered by the silent sobs of his; body trembling on top of the cold fabric on the bed. His hopes felt so distant as if it had been dropped into a black hole just within seconds ago. It was all beyond his reach now, the more he begged for it to stay by his side, the faster it fled out of his grasp. Perhaps, that was when the quote letting go is having came in. Two quiet syllables began to make its way out of the weak boys vocal cords and rolled off his tongue, sounding so fragile yet so powerful, "Sehun," chapped lips moved according to the sounds. While still lost in the brisk sea of reminisce, a soft click came through the silent atmosphere of the white plastered walls. A boy came in. Footsteps lightly crept towards the lonely bed in the midst of the plain, empty area. The lean boy sat down on the plastic chair that was placed by the beds left side. Aware of the boys existence, Luhan mutely pulled the soft covers up to his chin, slightly hiding behind the thin linen. Nothing was said during the first few moments of the boys stay. Neither of them were mentally prepared for each others presence, but finally, the silence was shattered into millions of pieces when a hoarse voice spread across the room. "Luhan, Im here," Sehun breathed by Luhans ears. A turn was made under the bed covers. Luhan faced his lover, slowly propped himself up against the frigid headboard. Sehun assisted him by placing a pillow behind the others back for extra support. An unwell feeling stirred in the center of Luhans heart at the brief sight of Sehun leaning beside him. A pair of hands were suddenly cupped around his thin fingers. "Luhan- I have something to tell you," the other confessed suddenly, "theres nothing between me and Jongin. I promise. I swear." Luhans eyes stared into Sehuns; gaze appeared cold and unfamiliar. The song of silence echoed through the room once again, though swiftly broken by a voice. The words were first let out in a whisper, then due to Sehuns request, he spoke louder, "Im sorry, but I have no memories of you in my past. Do I happen to know you from somewhere?" Tears began to gather at Sehuns lower lids, and slowly, droplets of salty water trailed off by the corners of his eyes. Only a mumble of incoherent words were heard afterwards, "Yes, you do." This time, silence filled the space between the two permanently. Sehun gaped at the others words, while Luhan motionlessly looked at the butterfly flap its wings lively near the window. The two sat in a world where the only language spoken was the humming of songs and chirping of birds, for the rest of the day before visiting hours were over. → Sehun sat quietly during the whole subway ride back home. He diverted his gaze from the floor to his hands laid open on his laps. "Is this some amnesia shit, or what!" he shriveled up on his seat, all the while muttering, "What have I done with my own two hands?"
