[M] XIUCHENS Trials And Trib (1/1)

Xiumin was the adorable, bun faced boy that Luhan loved to tease and poke fun of. “Baozi baozi baozi!” was what he called him ever since they were kids. But there was definitely no one who loved him as much as Chen has.                Chen was the new kid on the block that everyone was scared of. They thought he was weird and not to mention he is the ultimate prankster. Once in kindergarten he snuck in a lizard and placed it under one of the girl’s books. Boy did that girl scream and apparently, the teacher herself was so horribly frightened of lizards she called the firemen.                Yep, that’s the kind of trouble Chen was involved.                When Chen first men Xiumin in elementary school, hanging with Luhan, eating steamed buns (oh, the irony) in the cafeteria, it was like love at first sight. Seriously, who knew Chen the troll could even feel LOVE? At least, that was how it looked like to everyone else. Chen was still somewhat naïve about love.                “Hey bun boy!” Chen called Xiumin in the cafeteria.                “I’m not bun boy! Go away Chen!” Xiumin retorted, trying to fan off the annoying boy.                “No way! Gimme your food I’m hungry!”                “Go away!”                Chen snatched an apple out of Xiumin’s tray and stuck out a tongue. “Nie nie~~” Chen teased as he ran away and Xiumin seethed in anger. No. One. Steals. Kim. Minseok’s. Food.                Chen did all sorts of other nasty things. He put worms in Xiumin’s bag, he stole Xiumin’s pencils away. He threw paper balls at him in class. Xiumin hated him, but no matter how much he tried to get rid of him, Chen always came back. It was like Xiumin was his favourite toy to play with. He always teased Xiumin and no one else. He never did anything to Chanyeol, or Kris (not unless he wanted to die, Chen always explained) or even Tao and Sehun, who were the innocent ones of the group. It was always his favourite ‘bun boy’.                “It is so obvious what Chen is doing.” Baekhyun snickered to the group once after school. Chen was too busy poking Xiumin in the ribs while Xiumin was trying to get him to stop.                “Which is what?” Lay asked.                “Duh! He’s trying to get Xiumin’s attention. That’s why he’s acting this way!”                “No way, that’s sick.” Kris disagreed.                “No no, Bacon may be right guys!” as usual, Chanyeol always sticks up for Baekhyun.                “You don’t suppose…” Kyungsoo began.                “Oh no.” Kai whispered.                “It can’t be.” Luhan’s eyes grew big.                “Could it be…” Sehun asked Luhan.                “Chen likes Xiumin?!” everyone breathed out at the same time and turned to stare at Xiuchen who were in the middle of a tickle fest.                “Chen…hahahahahaha….stop it!!!”                “You….stop first!!” Chen twisted his fingers in Xiumin’s hair as they tickled each other harshly. Lay, who was sitting next to Chen, grew slightly annoyed and pushed Chen towards Xiumin. At that instant, Chen crashed his lips against Xiumin and everyone stared in a confusion of horror, shocked, and glee.                For a few seconds, Chen stayed there with his lips on Xiumin, fingers intertwined in his hair. Xiumin snapped out of it first and pushed Chen back harshly.                “Ew…you kissed me!” Xiumin curled his lip in disgust.                “It wasn’t that bad,” Chen muttered. For an instant, everyone could see how genuinely hurt Chen was by Xiumin’s statement. But why was he acting that way?                After that, Chen tried to kiss Xiumin again and again. He even resorted to blackmailing.                “If you kiss me, I won’t tell Luhan you broke his toy.” Chen grinned, looking at the broken Donald Duck toy on the floor.                “I hate you,” Xiumin seethed, but let Chen kiss him anyway.                After some time, Xiumin didn’t really fight Chen off anymore. At first he decided it was better to let Chen kiss him whenever he wants rather than have Chen put glue in his shoes and mud in his bag. So whenever Chen wanted a kiss, Xiumin didn’t protest. Later, he found out that he liked kissing Chen. Chen seems to have gotten better at kissing and slowly when Chen kissed him, Xiumin kissed back. The group thought it was awkward because they just kiss but they’re not even official. It’s like kiss buddies, which is even weirder than fuck buddies.                “Chen, can I ask you something?” Xiumin decided to ask one day while the group was taking walks in the park. Hunhan had their arms around each other, while everyone else formed a mini football team.                “What?”                “Why do you like kissing me?”                That question caught Chen completely off guard and red in the face. “Do you like me?” Xiumin asked.                “Y…yes.” Chen confessed, feeling shy and meek. Now that was a real first. Shy and meek Chen. Wow.                “I mean as in like like.”                “Yes.”                “As in Sehun like Luhan?”                “Yes.” Chen answered, kissing Xiumin again to shut him up so that he wouldn’t hear what else Xiumin had to say. In truth, he was just terribly afraid of Xiumin rejecting him.                “I know I haven’t been the nicest guy to you, but I hope you…” Chen was going to say ‘like me too’, but instead he chickened out and said “don’t hate me at least.”                Xiumin frowned for a while and for the first time; he took the initiative and kissed Chen first.                “Does that answer your question?”                Needless to say, Xiuchen became official that day. Chen was still the annoying prankster everyone knew, but instead of bugging Xiumin, he bugged others instead. Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Luhan, Sehun, Lay and Tao were all his brand new targets. He said that he had no time to bug Xiumin, because whenever he was with Xiumin, he was preoccupied doing something else. So this relationship it seems has its good points and its bad points. For Chen’s unlucky prank victims at least.                Things turned for the worse in college. Xiumin’s had a roommate named Jack. Jack was a bit of a screw ball. He was the mess up of college. Always drinking and sleeping around. Xiumin didn’t like him, but Jack has never attacked him, so Xiumin didn’t say much.                One day, Jack came home drunk. Terribly drunk. Xiumin got up from his seat to help his roommate, who was wobbling by the door.                “Jack you okay?”                “Xiu…min…” Jack looked up at his roommate with hazy eyes. It was hard to tell what Jack was thinking. Suddenly, he slammed Xiumin against the wall and pinned his arms above his head.                “Jack what are you…”                “Shut up bitch.” Jack growled and slammed his lips against Xiumin. Xiumin wriggled to try and get free but Jack was  much stronger. Jack gripped his wrists so tightly it hurt and he was biting Xiumin’s lip painfully.                “Let me go!! Let me go!!”                Jack gagged Xiumin with his scarf. “Make any more noise and I’ll make this even worse than it already is.”                As Jack ravaged Xiumin’s virgin body that night, Xiumin cried tears of pain. He could tasted the saltiness of his tears and the metallic taste of blood on his lip. The whole thing…hurt so much. Xiumin screamed into the night, but no one head him because of the gag. He wanted Chen to rush into the room and stop the pain. He wanted Chen to come in and chase Jack away. But he didn’t. Chen didn’t come in.                By the time it was over, Xiumin was in so much pain and he felt a mixture of cum and blood dribble down his thigh. Jack was finished and he dressed himself up again. He kicked Xiumin in the side and walked out, leaving him crippled on the floor. Xiumin gripped his sides and tried to fight back tears, his body aching in pain. He felt blood trickle down his thigh. He felt so…dirty. His body was covered in sweat and semen. Xiumin cried even more in frustration.                “Xiumin? You awake? Open the door.” Chen called, knocking on the door the next morning. There was no answer.                “Xiumin? Minmin?” he called. Still no reply. Chen reached for the spare key under the mat and opened the door. Xiumin told him where it was in case of emergencies. He opened the door to find Xiumin lying on the floor, naked and bloodied.                “Xiumin! Xiumin!!” Chen rushed to his side to help Xiumin up. Xiumin was unconscious and after being shaken a couple of times, he opened his eyes. When he saw Chen, he pushed the boy away.                “No…go away!!”                “Xiumin, what happened? Why are you…”                “Go away! GO AWAY!! DON’T TOUCH ME!!”                “Xiumin stop!!” Xiumin was thrashing in his arms and screaming wildly. Xiumin pushed Chen off of him and dashed into his room. He locked the door and left Chen banging.                “Xiumin! XIUMIN!! OPEN THE DOOR!” Chen banged. He whipped out his cell phone to call Kris. “Kris, I need help.”                Xiumin refused to see anyone. He locked himself up and the gang was left banging the door. In the end, Tao did a wushu kick and kicked the door open forcefully. Luhan and Lay dashed inside first. Xiumin was on his bed, covered by sheets, his face was stained with tears and some blood was still evident. The clean, white sheets were smeared with blood. Possibly made by Xiumin in an attempt to wipe them off.                “Xiumin? It’s me, Luhan.” Luhan tried, approaching the boy very carefully. Xiumin gripped the sheets tighter to his body, still shaking with fear. He looked at all of them like they were aliens. Chen’s heart broke at the sight. What happened to his beautiful Xiumin? Why is he like this?                “It’s just me and Lay. Tell us what happened.” Luhan tried in the softest, gentlest voice possible.                “We can help you.” Kyungsoo tried, sitting on the bed to get closer, but the closer Kyungsoo got, the further Xiumin inched away.                “Jack….”                “Jack? What about Jack? What did he do to you?”                “He…he…hurt me…”                “Did he beat you?”                Xiumin nodded.                “Did he,” Lay gulped. “Rape you?”                At this instant, Xiumin screamed into the sheets and started thrashing about. “GO AWAY GO AWAY!!! IT HURTS IT HURST!!! STOP STOP STOP!!!” The group retreated in shock. Chen tried to get close to him, but Kris put an arm out to stop him. Luhan and Lay tried to restrain Xiumin.                “Call the police Chen.”                “But but Xiumin…”                “Call now. Do it.” Kris’s voice was stern. Chen dialed the police and they rushed over to the scene. Xiuminw as transferred to the hospital for immediate treatment and the group were questioned about the incident.                “I…I just found him on the floor, naked and covered in blood…” Chen recalled, his eyes filling with tears and he retold his story to the police officer. “and then…” he couldn’t even finish and started bursting in tears. Tao and Lay comforted him as the police officer moved on to the next member.                Xiumin suffered terrible injuries from the rape incident and was hospitalized for a week. In the mean time, Jack was arrested for raping 12 girls and 5 boys, including Xiumin. He was convicted and sentenced to lifetime imprisonment. Jack was also kicked out of college and Xiumin was given leave of absence and post-traumatic counseling.                If anyone else needed counseling as well, it was Chen. Chen was devastated about the entire incident. He was furious at Jack. He was worried about Xiumin. He cried every time he recalled the scene of him picking Xiumin up only to be thrown aside. Most of all, he was angry at himself. He could have protected him. He should have, he promised his little bun boy, now Xiumin was in hospital, hurt and traumatized by the event. Chen blamed himself. He should have protected him.                “You cannot blame yourself for this,” Suho explained to Chen. “You couldn’t have stopped this. We couldn’t either. You have to be strong. Strong for Xiumin. He needs protection and guidance when he comes back into the world. You must be strong. He needs you.”                Chen looked at Suho. He’s right; I must be strong for him.                Once Xiumin was out of hospital and ready to face society again, he started becoming distant. No more laughs and jokes. No more eating steamed buns and shopping with Tao. Instead, he hardly talked and there was almost no more physical contact. The psychiatrist said that they had to be patient with Xiumin.                So most things started from scratch. Small greetings, handshake, light touches. Out of all people, Chen was the most patient. Still being his usual self, but always paying attention to Xiumin’s needs. After a while Xiumin opened up and seemed more like himself day by day.                Now, it’s been two years since the incident. Xiumin has improved so much, accepting hugs and soft feathery kisses and he was like his old usual self. But Chen knows there is an ugly barrier, standing there in Xiumin’s heart, forever haunting him of Jack.                But no matter, Chen will break that barrier. A/N: It pains me to write this.
