Fried Chicken (1/1)
Fried ChickenI had been trying to work out the envelope puzzle until SHINee wandered out again from backstage and began singing their songs again. The performances I couldn't put the words to how brilliant they where dancing and singing, the crowds cheering wasn't without a reason, and to top it off they had some brilliant lighting and graphics in the background to accompany the males. But all that was on my mind was this puzzle, and they hadn't even explained the rules to us yet. I sat there with the thoughts constantly running through my mind, subconsciously singing to the SHINee lyrics as they sang their songs proudly on the stage as if my mind was trying to distract me from this puzzle without me noticing. Soon enough another break came, for SHINee to stop and change outfits quickly personally, I didn't care about SHINee's outfit change. I wanted the quiz to be solved now. “All right SHINee World, those who got an envelope stand up!” exclaimed Minho, after a small amount of breathe catching time and as instructed I stood up and automatically looked around the room for the other envelope holders. Naturally Hyo had been right, there was four others, the ginger, a blonde, and two other brunettes, and myself who all stood up the four of them looking confused whilst I smirked at their faces and turned back to face SHINee once again. “Told you there was four of them,” whispered Hyo quietly to me to which I nodded at his reply making sure he knew I had heard him. I looked up to SHINee, awaiting for that microphone to move to one of their mouths and explain the rules whist the other four complained about the fact not only one person had an envelope. “There's more than one envelope here, in fact there's five of them here!” protested the ginger boldly with the blonde and two brunettes agreeing loudly with her as if they were going to intimidate SHINee by grouping together. I sighed lightly, they were all idiots to not figure out something was wrong and with this I gained a raised eyebrow from Onew and Taemin above me. I turned to the so-called “competition” in irritation and retorted calmly, and coolly on the outside. “Will you all please just shut up and let them explain why there is more than one envelope. For all you know we could have all just misinterpreted it.” Instantly the girls all fell into silence. Thank you for shutting up was all I could think of. I wanted to know as much as them. Onew smiled brightly at me almost as if to say thank you to which I nodded at him causing a small squeal from Cho Hee in the background – fangirl alert. “Right, the reason there is more than one envelope is as this young lady has said, I specifically said: under one seat there will be a special pearl blue envelope stuck to it not that there will be only one envelope to be obtained. Just that one would be specifically special, not the others. Understand?” Onew explained calmly and easily, as the other girls simply gaped, I signalled with a nod showing I understood. “But then how to we know whose won?” Questioned a brunette on the front row to the far left letting my ears perk up in interest of how we were going to play for the winners position in this competition. Was it really as simple as a different piece of paper being in the envelope to the others? I somehow didn't think so though. “Taemin you can explain.” Commented Onew passing the fan girls battle to him. “You can all open your envelopes now and sit down.” Jonghyun patted Taemin's shoulder as if to comfort him then laughed light-heartedly. As I sat down once again to getting a whisper in the ear from Cho Hee of “Nice work there, you've caught Onew's attention. Next you'll be dating.” to which I rolled my eyes at her silly fantasies again and opened the envelope carefully. Inside, as predicted, was a piece of paper with something different on it – in this case the words “Fried Chicken” on the page in scruffy handwriting. I had a feeling Onew had something to do with the choice of words. What where they going to be: Fried Chicken, KFC, Chicken Nuggets, Chicken Breast, and Chicken Fried Rice? I laughed at the thought of it. Well, they were a little strange were SHINee. “There are five different words,” Taemin began pushing aside my childish thoughts about the words. “During the performances the one of the selected words will appear somewhere. If your word or words appears during the performance then afterwards you will go to the red booth outside of the stage arena and then we will confirm whether or not your word has appeared during the concert.” After this SHINee left for the second break. “Something seems wrong about this competition, Cyan. Almost as if it's a scam.” Hyo commented causing both me and Cho Hee looking at him with a dubious look to his statement. I wasn't quite sure what he was hinting at, but if Hyo felt something was wrong, he was probably right. As boring as the raven head is sometimes, he has a mind of a computer. “What the heck, Stupid Hypno!” Cho Hee blurted out in annoyance and to defend her beloved idols, “This is an official concert, they can't just scam you! SHINee would get a bad reputation for doing something like that!” “Good point, Cho Hee.” I remarked causing her to place both hands on her hips proudly and her body straighten up. “Hee Hee is right, however they've made it as though you won't be able to find the words at all – I mean, won't you be focusing more on SHINee than on the environment for a silly little prize? Either they'd have to make it obvious, or they aren't going to display the word at all.” Immediately Cho Hee deflated back to her original position which I was surprised she could inflate in the first place with that tight blue dress on. “I don't know, all I know is that I'm not going to win this.” I commented negatively causing Cho Hee to hit me lightly on the arm. I gazed back at the ginger haired girl who glared darkly at me in annoyance to which I shrugged off carelessly ignoring her friends backup of insults. The likelihood was, she was probably going to win just because she had an attitude – they always won. My cousin Lana always gets away with it and she has a similar attitude to the ginger girl. Cho Hee “humphed” at the attitude of the girl, regretting she called her pretty probably, and turned around to begin talking to Hyo who was slouched, as if bored with the concert. I smiled. He never changed. I gazed up at the T shaped stage and across it running around was an array members of staff dressed in black arranging the stage for the next part as quickly as possible whilst checking if everything functioned properly. A difficult job to do. A pole began to fall on the stage and underneath a member of the staff who hadn't seen the pole, causing my mouth to open and slightly sit forward. Luckily another member of staff caught the pole and both of them began to laugh at the incident and finished their jobs. This was a weird concert. I'm not sure whether I'd want to do this again. There's that weird envelope thing, gingers with attitudes, poles almost falling onto other members of staff and Cho Hee kept hitting me. However the music was good and the singers brilliant vocals live. I was having the time of my life. As the staff all left and the lights once again began to dim down making everyone become silent for the last time of the concert. SHINee arrived on the stage singing WOWOWOW all dressed in different coloured outfits and once again them all dashing around the stage as if there was no tomorrow so once again, I looked to the screen for assistance to keep up with the members. Jonghyun seemed the most hyperactive of all the members as he bounced up and down on the stage chasing Minho around with small little multicoloured plastic balls attempting to hit him and failing. At the other sides, Onew, Key and Taemin all throwing their coloured balls to the fans who were begging them to throw one to them and hugging them tightly if they got one. I smiled as each member appeared on the screen until Onew's shoe appeared on the screen as a close up, there a small text on the side of his green high top shoe in black the word “Fried” on it. I blinked sure that I had read the text wrong, it couldn't have said that. That would make me closer to winning than I thought otherwise and I wasn't going to win this, for all I knew, that could be the only word to appear. I continued to watch the screen when suddenly Onew appeared before us with three balls left clasped in his large hands jumping in the way of my view of the screen. I peeked towards his shoes trying to confirm what I had seen, and there on his shoes was indefinitely the word “Fried” stitched into the side of his comfy looking shoes. I glimpsed up to Onew's soft looking face who was directly focusing into my eyes with his dark brown eyes, a green ball lightly held in his hand and a broad smile as he sung his line. With a small nod he tossed the ball and I easily caught it and smiled, miming a small thank you to him as he gently tossed a ball each towards Hyo and Cho Hee then left once again to begin singing Lucifer. Sure enough, throughout the rest of the concert I did not see the word chicken which meant one thing, Fried Chicken wasn't the word to win – I knew it. But the concert was amazing as SHINee all began to perform Sherlock on the stage. This was my favourite dance of them all. As much as Lucifer was complicated and cool, Sherlock had an edgy feeling to it which I couldn't resist to not watch over and over again and watching them perform it live was definitely worth watching. Suddenly Taemin removed his jacket and once again the screen focused on the jacket inside and inside in white the word “Chicken” was plastered in sneakily. I shrugged and carried on watching, forgetting that I even had the words “Fried Chicken” and watched until I got a knock on my knee from Cho Hee lightly. “You've won, you've won! My bestest friend ever has won.” Her ponytail and voice both bobbed in excitement as she continuously hit my leg rapidly until I stopped her using my hand to drag it away from my leg. “Oh yeah. I've won.” I replied dully as I carried on watching SHINee perform the last song, Romantic. And I just forgot about it as though it was nothing, then again, it didn't mean much to me because all we'd win was an album or something. Who was I kidding. My heart had skipped a beat in joyous hullabaloo because I was that overjoyed for beating not only the snobby ginger and the other competition, but because I'd won something precious from them. “How can you say that in such a dull tone?” Cho Hee whined loudly at me causing me to gaze at her disinterested about what she was about to say. I already knew what she was going to say. “You've just won a prize from SHINee and you're not interested? That's ridiculous! I hope it's crap! You don't deserve it after being an unworthy fan for not even being a little excited.” I laughed a little as she commented and went back to observing the last song causing her to sulk with me. “Who's not interested?” I commented quietly as to stop disturbance for anyone watching the show whilst rolling the green ball in my hand. Cho Hee always speaks her mind no matter the person, she will say what she thinks. Something that's truly a treasure about her is that she doesn't hide in her little shell. “Now watch the concert will you? We didn't pay for you to sulk with me in a special place.” Cho Hee laughed under her breathe and I could feel that she had turned forward and was recording Taemin once again on her video recorder. Soon enough the concert was finished and all the fans where once again cheering and clapping as SHINee said their goodbyes and to be careful on the way home. I turned to my left to see Hyo practically asleep on the chair. He really wasn't interested in the band at all, probably the envelope thought work was the only interesting thing about this whole charade to him. Well truthfully, I think he only came here for Cho Hee. I laughed as all the lights came on and everyone started to rise to leave from the concert arena and shook him so we could also leave making him yawn loudly. “Come on, lets go outside and wake up a little shall we?” I suggested causing both of them to nod and follow my lead out, Cho Hee gabbing all the way outside about how amazing Taemin had been throughout the concert.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapter 2 complete!
