Chapter 21 (1/1)

"Uhm.." I laughed, smiling awkwardly while silently cursing myself inside. You call yourself an actress Choi Kyungmi? Yet you can't even walk right with a little injury?  Jiyong rolled his eyes in frustration, his hands going up to his waist as he stared, demanding an explaination. I swallowed. Knowing this guy for 3 years taught me that when he's really pissed off, nothing's a wiser solution than to stay silent. And so I did. He exhaled in exasperation, muttering things semi-inaudible like "Idiot.. Keep getting herself in messes..." as he stormed over.  "It's just a.." I began but a squeal escaped from me instead. Jiyong shot me a dirty look before his arms surrounded over my thighs, swiftly lifting me from the soft grass while he releases an arm to support my neck. "WHAT THE- WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I screamed but clasped a hand to my mouth immediately, glancing around nervously before resuming to whisper urgenty once the surroundings are cleared. "Let me down, Kwon Ji- People might see! There might be reporters in ambush or something! Don't you read the news?"  "Oh shut up, kitty." He groaned, rolling his eyes again as he walked to the car. "If you're so worried, why even get injured in the first pleace?" "Seriously, I said let me down." I hissed in a serious tone, glaring at him. Jiyong paused in his tracks, staring down hard at me. "Look, Jiyong. Listen to me, and put me down. Its in public. We're both in this industry. Your album is on the way. We can't take any risks."  Jiyong kept his stare, narrowing his eyes for a moment as I nodded in determination. Just him coming here to fetch me is risky enough should anyone see. And I'm definetly not risky this period of time where his solo career is just about to take off. "Fine." He hissed back, slightly angry while setting me gently back on the ground. "Lets see how you can walk to the car like this, Kyungmi."  "Thats fine, thank you." I answered, regaining my balance. Jiyong glared for a moment before throwing his arms in the air in frustration, making his way over to the car first as I hobbled behind. It wasn't a long distance, but that burning sensation in my ankle was really  distracting. He unlocked the car, leaning against it as he folded his arms, frowning while watching me limp my way over slowly.  "Forget it. You're going to take a whole day to reach this damn car." He cursed before returning quickly, lifting me off my feet again, this time turning completely deaf to my shrieks of outrage as he jogs back to the vehicle with me thrashing about, before he set me down carefully on the passenger side, leaning down to buckle my seatbelt.  "That waas dangerous!" I yelped, staring at Jiyong outrageously while looking out frantically to check for any paparazzis again. Jiyong got into the car, scoffing as he buckle his own seatbelt.  "Can't I carry my own girlfriend?"  "You-" I began loudly but my cheeks burned instantly as his words sunk in. "I didn't- I didn't say.. you couldn't, Ji.. Just not in public.." I stammered, refusing any eye contact.  Jiyong glanced at my reddened cheeks, smirking a little as he did everytime I was shy (Before I managed to grab hold of something and shove it down his throat to shut him up, of course.) He smiled a little, previous anger subsiding as I smiled back too. I hummed as he drove, occasionally drumming his fingers lightly on the steering wheel or lean over to tuck a stray strand of my hair behind my ear.  "Jagi ah," He said suddenly.  "Hmm?"   "After I finished the solo album, finished the promotions for it, and end the bigshow for the year, how about we go for a holiday at Jeju?" He suggested hopefully, eyes lightly up.  "Just us? Alone?" I blurted. Ofcourse, I'm delighted at the idea. It has been a long time since the both of us went out to play together. But..  "Yeah?“ He answered, frowning confusedly. "What's wrong with that?"  I giggled nervously and he caught my eye, knowing what I'm worried of right away. Smirking, he pulled over as he fumbled to unbuckle his seat belt.  "What.. What are you doing?" I asked, my voice loud as he narrowed his eyes cheekily, inching himself closer and closer. Finally, the distance between us is so small to the point that his nose was barely touching mine.  Staring at his features, I could almost not believe this boy was the same boy who was only just a trainee I've met 3 years back, the boy who rushes to school then rush back to the company to practice. He felt.. different. More handsome, more charming. But it was still that pair of chocolate colored eyes and gummy smile that I loved.  "What exactly are you scared of, Ms Choi?" He whispered, teasing as I bit down on my lips, pushing myself further towards the seat so that we wouldn't be so awkwardly close. Jiyong's eyes travelled mockingly down my actions before he teased again. "Are you, perhaps, worrying that I wouldn't be a gentleman towards you?" He smirked again, his lips curling upwards but his mouth still filled with the same cute affection. He lifted his hand and, with the back of his fingers, he ran them down the side of my cheek as I gasped.  "Kwon Jiyong what are you-"  "Shh." He cooed, placing a finger on his lips as I whimpered. My powers don't work on him when he's 1m away from me. "Don't worry, I'll be gentle on you." He whispered, surpressing his laughter. Not finding this funny, I gripped the sides of my seat tightly as he inches closer and closer, tilting his face until...  "WHAT DO YOU THINK THE BOTH OF YOU ARE DOING IN THE CAR?" Someone yelled, banging on the front of the vehicle as Jiyong jumped and looked back surprisedly, only to see my father carrying a bag of groceries, staring at us with narrowed eyes. Swallowing, Jiyong mumbled "Shit.." as he got out of the car quickly to perform his oh-so-famous 90 degree bow with me watching everything amusedly from the car.  "What are you trying to do inside, young man?" My father asked sternly, his arms folded crossly.  "I... Kyungmi.. We were just.." Jiyong hesitated, giving me a fleeting look, "I.. I was trying to kiss Kyungmi, Ahjusshi." Jiyong admitted honestly, shooting me another look that said 'Save me' plainly. I laughed, shrugging my should while sticking my tongue out. A childish revenge for a childish boy seems pretty fair.  "Are you both married?" My father asked.  "No, sir."  "No physical contact anywhere beyond holding hands until marraige, understand, young man?" My father announced, picking up his groceries. Jiyong's eyes almost popped, glancing from my father to me, mouth opened in disbelief. I smirked this time, returning him a 'You heard him, that's my dad' look.  "Ah, yea, yea, I will keep it in mind, ahjusshi." Jiyong bowed again, tilting his face to narrow his eyes at me as he mouth a silence "You're dead."     The next few days were extremely carefree, being rid of drama schedules all the way until mid August, where the movie will be released and we have to attend premiers and promotion events. The free time I had was spent either practicing with Taehee just like we did when I was a trainee while the rest were spent in the recording studio with my now blonde boyfriend. His hair, which is a vivid shade of platinium blonde, framed his face perfectly, emphasizing on his brown eyes and pale skin tone. In korea, that hairstyle will be considered completely bizzare and not many will dare try it. but I must admit that Jiyong had pulled it off perfectly, and with his body frame, he looked just like a manga character. His change in style was suited for his photoshoot for the cover jacket of his upcoming first solo album, Heartbreaker.  I knew he had worked really hard for this, dreaming for it ff it ever since we were still trainees. The members had shown their enthusiasm for it and because I didn't know how to, I just showed up often in the studio where he'll be recording late into the night whenever I had the chance to.  "I'll be out recording with a senior that'll feature in the album, Kitty." He sighed, pulling his beanie off, ruffling his message blonde hair tiredly, "Why don't you go home and get some sleep first?"  "In that case I'll look Taehee up in the practice studio then." I said casually, standing up as he did while he stretched.  "You bestfriend?"  I nodded as he put his beanie back on, grabbing his laptop from the desk, all ready to go. strands of hair stuck out untidly from his red beanie, covering his eyes partially.  "Work hard!" I cheered and he returned a tired grin, leaning foward to press his lips on my forehead. "Call me when you're done!" I said before he waved and I left the studio.  True enough, I found my dance-fanatic bestfriend in the dance studio. Years had past yet she seemed like the only one who hasn't changed. The same personality, same aura of brightness, same cheery looks and same passion. My lips parted into a smile as I saw her, feeling a special fondness for the first person to break through those walls that I've came to abandon.  "You came!" She paused, turning around as her face lit up immediately. "Don't you have any schedules today, Miss Popular actress?"  "Apparently, I don't, you idiot." I grinned, "Let's start!"  Soon enough I realise something off about her. Her body wasn't flowing with the music like how it normally is, and, on close look, her eye bags were prominent  under her puffy eyes and she seemed a little out of it.  "So," I finally said with a sigh, walking over to stop the music from the stereo and stared at Taehee, arms folded. "You ready to tell me what's wrong?"  "What..?" She answered, her hands that were doing her moves distractedly fell to her sides, "What do you mean? I'm fine, Kyungmi."  "Come off it, Lee Taehee." I groaned, rolling my eyes at her. "You're different today. You don't jump around, you don't blabber, you didn't even realise your Teddy Oppa had walked past you earlier when we went to get drinks! And not to mention that you're messing up the whole dance."  "I guess I've been deproving alot these days huh." She said, squeezing out a what she reckoned was a bright and sunshine smile while ended up looking like a grimace as she sat down slowly on the floor.  I laughed, "Yah, who are you kidding? If there's one thing you can't deprove in that's dance. I mean-"  "Eonnie..."   I stopped, not because she interrupted me but the fact that she's calling me eonnie shows that something is very wrong. Alarm rose within my throat as I sat down beside her, "What's wrong?"  "Eonnie, have you ever been.. in love?" Taehee asked, her round eyes staring dreamily ahead, focusing on nothing. I swallowed before answering.  "Yeah..?"  "Then tell me.. When I can't stop thinking about him? When all I think about everyday is have he eaten.. When can I see him.. When I would even give up my food for him when I'm starving... When he's the last thing in my mind before I sleep and the first thing in the morning.." She hesitated, her eyes reddening. "When he tells me.. theres another girl he loves, my heart will feel so suffocated, am I in love?"   I stared at her, almost couldn't believing what I just heard. The bubbly and innocent Taehee that I know is.. in love? "Am I?" She asked, turning to face me as she grabbed my hand. I nodded hesitantly and she sighed, releasing her grip.  "Then I hate being in love." She muttered, eyes fixed to the ground as I sighed and patted her on the back.  "I know.." I said gently. "Who is it?"  She stared at me for a moment before her glance went back to the ground.  "Daesung Oppa."I know I havent update about Taehee for a long while. But yeah! Here comes trouble... /Dramatic drumrolls/Meanwhile,I'll try to update as much as I can.Busy Week.Again, your comments give me strength!
